As we age, we become more susceptible to
the natural effects of gravity and daily stresses; these
can leave behind some very noticeable traces on our skin
– particularly that of the face.
Technically known as Blepharoplasty, an eyelid surgery
is performed to help an aging face regain its youthfulness.
An eyelid surgery entails the making of a small incision
that follows the natural lines and folds of the upper and
lower eyelids. Excess fat and skin are extracted and incisions
are closed with sutures.
Following the eyelid surgery, the surgeon will want to
keep an eye on your progress for about a week or two. Sutures
are normally removed within two days to one week after the
procedure. Most people feel ready to get back to their usual
activities, on average, between seven to ten days.
