Eyelid surgery, commonly referred to as Blepharoplasty,
is performed as a means to help a patient gain back the
youthful appearance as a result of the aging process and
the natural forces of gravity. Combined, these factors can
have very visible effects on the area surrounding the eyes,
causing sagginess and wrinkles.
Florida eyelid surgery is an outpatient procedure, and
may be performed in the surgeon’s office facility
or an outpatient center depending on the patient/surgeon
agreement. Normally, eyelid surgery may last from one to
three hours depending on the number of surgical procedures
being performed. During the surgery, the surgeon will make
small incisions following the natural lines of the eye and
the creases of the upper eyelid from which excess fat and
skin tissue will be removed.
Sutures will be removed within two weeks following the
eyelid surgery procedure and most swelling and discoloration
will fade in about 5 or 6 days.
If you are considering a Florida
eyelid surgery, we would encourage you to meet with one
of our board certified Florida plastic surgeons for a free
consultation to discuss your options for a Florida eyelid
surgery.
Meeting with one of our Florida plastic surgeons will allow
you to get detailed information about the procedure you
are considering, such as the risks and benefits involved,
the costs, type of anesthesia used and recovery period,
and is a great opportunity to address any concerns or questions
you may have about the Florida eyelid surgery procedure
